Samsung Led 7020

Television technology is fast approaching an unprecedented zenith.Perhaps televisions deserve the rapid rate at which they are advancing; after all, development has been slow in the coming. Oh sure, televisions have come a long way; they used to be black and white, small and curved.
The previous century saw them going from that to colored, large and flat. But that was over a period of about seventy years. The basic principle remained the same behind TVs decade after decade and no one could top the basic CRT set-up. But the last decade changed all of that, at least as far as the commercially available technology is concerned. We have seen so many new technologies hit the market that supporters of opposing kinds have come to blows even.

But this new Samsung 7020 LED TV is an oddity in the world of competing technologies. For years we have researched and debated the finer points of using plasma technology as opposed to the liquid crystal display; of using LEDs instead of CCFLs and so on. We all know that Plasma sets have a far better viewing angle and produce much deeper blacks. We also know that LCDs consume less electricity and are more compact, but fail to reproduce the contrast ratio of Plasmas.

We know that LCDs use liquid crystals whereas Plasmas function with charged noble gases. We know the benefits of using LED backlighting instead of the dimmer CCFLs. The thing is we know all that. And here comes the Samsung 7020 and upturns our deepest beliefs about display panel technologies. It shakes our very foundations. To put it bluntly, the new Samsung 7020 combines the benefits of both Plasma and LCD technologies into a single set. You want me to repeat that for you? Alright, the new Samsung 7020 actually combines the benefits of the two technologies into one. As we all pick up our jaws from the floor and shake hands with the enemy camp (whichever one that happens to be), let us take a slightly closer look at this new oddity of technology.

It appears that this new model uses LED lamps placed along the edge of the screen to produce a more controlled backlight along the image, instead of having them placed all across. This effectively results in darker blacks, more brilliant whites and subtler color gradation in the final image. This arrangement also increases the screen’s response time, which results in virtually no motion blur, like the Plasma equivalents.
To top it all up, these new LED sets consume 40% less power than normal LCD TVs. That is another surprising feature for LCDs have always had the edge over Plasmas simply because they consumed less power. Here comes a set which mimics the image quality of the Plasma and consumes less power than the LCD! The new Samsung 7020 is perhaps the television we have been waiting for; the one television to bring us together and in the dark room, bind us!
